Four Weeks This Spring

This May, you have an opportunity to get that first word onto the page and, with guidance and support, send it out into the world.  


The secret to selling transformational books is to sell yourself and your story, so in these four weeks together, we will create and begin to implement your marketing plan .... even as you are getting your first draft done!


You will have a group of supportive classmates cheering you on as you receive writing tips, instruction, checklists and templates in 5 online meetings. Each week we will take another step in your marketing plan while assembling your book and getting it out of your head and onto the page.


You will attend the online class (either live or via the recording) and receive a plan of action for the rest of your week. Then, in a Facebook group created especially for this retreat, we will all be here for each other, with support and information, to get it done.


Consider the Facebook page your circle of support. Please use it!  Even if you may not normally be on Facebook, create an account, and join just this group for this period of time. It will be well worth it!


The retreat runs from May 13 to June 10th. 


A Retreat with Purpose

We are calling this a retreat because we want you to think of this as a special time and place JUST FOR YOU to get your words out to the world. Each meeting is a sacred time, where you will receive guidance and direction to take with you over the next days to get your book done. You will have a plan and first steps in place to get your book into the hands and hearts of those who will benefit most.


While retreats can be powerful when they are done live, I recognize that it is very difficult for people to get away to Ecuador for ten days to spend a period of time focusing solely on a book with me.  So this year, at the behest of many who asked for another option, I have created this virtual retreat.  


However, just because we're not all here together working  in a writing circle, that doesn’t mean you can just come to the classes and then wander off for the next week and expect to get your book done.  


You must consider this time YOUR time, and book off at least an hour every day to devote to writing and to creating and implementing your marketing plan.

Advice from a Literary Giant

Hemingway had much great advice for writers, and while he was speaking mostly of fiction, I believe that his words can help you on your quest to write your transformational book. “Write clearly, and people will know if you are being true. And just write the truest sentence that you know.” If you follow this, and the guidance and exercises in this Retreat, you will have a great book to share with the world.

What can you expect?

On May 13, we will begin our journey with an online meeting through ZOOM. While it is best to be at the meetings live, don’t worry if something happens to keep you away. They will be recorded and placed in the classroom set up through my online academy on Thinkific.


We will get started with your mind/book mapping process, choose your goal for your book and figure out who is your ideal reader. 


Over the course of the next week, you will do your assignments, and there will be plenty of opportunities to have feedback, more guidance, prompts and conversations through our Facebook group. We are in this together, and we will get it done with the support of each other.


Then, each Monday for the next four weeks we will have more “assignments” and information, some of them focused on writing your book, some focused on marketing strategies.


At our last “meeting” on June 10th, you will have the chance to share what you have put together, and we will discuss next steps.

  

There is only space for 10 people on this retreat. I am keeping it small because I feel it’s important that everyone has plenty of opportunities to receive help and feedback, and we stay focused during each meeting. 


It is also essential that you have a solid book idea before we start. These weeks will be jam-packed with important info, so you don’t want to be struggling to find a topic while we are progressing with the lessons and exercises. Your focus may change, and you may narrow or redefine your topic, as is often the case during sessions like these, but be sure you have a strong idea for the book you want to create during this retreat.

I cannot guarantee a bestseller but... I can guarantee that you will be well on your way to getting your book done in these five weeks, and you will have the steps you must take to achieve the goal that we will set at the beginning of the retreat.


This virtual retreat offers you the complete plan that I offer my private coaching clients. You will get all of the educational materials, online support for the duration of the retreat, and feedback in the group. 


Also, for this first virtual retreat, I am including a free one-on-one, half hour coaching session. Once you are registered, we will set up a date for our meeting, and progress from there.


At the end, IF YOU DO THE WORK, you will have your first draft done, and you will have a plan of action to market your book… the book that could change many lives.
