I've been investigating the healing power of sound and music for more than 20 years. In fact, I was so passionate about it that, in 2000, my partner and I co-authored the groundbreaking primer on the subject: The Healing Sound of Music.
It was the first book to include a CD of harp and guitar music created especially to help readers experience and utilize the healing power of music as they read. But many things have changed since then, not the least of which is the terrible increase in the incidence of dementia and Alzheimer's disease over the past two decades. This has struck home three times now.... both of my grandmothers died with Alzheimer's, and my mother passed away on December 29, 2019, with this terrible disease.
Seeing how this ruthless condition destroyed the minds of three phenomenal women made me search for the cause of this malady, and I have made it my mission to do everything I can to ensure I do not succumb to it.
